MARC Project Design & Info
This page is designed to share information, design concepts and estimated costs on the MARC Project.
The Advisory Committee developed a comprehensive Decision Matrix to establish a final priority list for the Master Conceptual Design. Items in the Decision Matrix included; Survey results, Focus groups results, LC4 Committee input, CHA/Greenplay Design Team input, Market demand, Yearly Revenue Opportunities, Yearly Operating Costs, and Initial investment costs.
In August of 2023, Phase 1 Tier 1A broke ground consisting of 8 Pickleball Courts, Skatepark & Perimeter Walking Loop. Construction costs came to $1,670,000 and was strategically funded by various methods that wouldn't raise taxes or come from the general fund. Funding sources included:
Recreation Impact Fees: $600,000
State & Local Fiscal Recovery Funds: $250,000
Private Funds: $45,000
Land and Water Conservation Fund: $500,000 (original award)
Land and Water Conservation Fund: $125,000 (additional award)
Bowdoin Capital Contribution: $150,000

DRAFT MASTER Conceptual Site Plan
On March 21, 2022 Town Staff and CHA Consultants presented to the Brunswick Town Council an update that included the DRAFT Master Conceptual Plan, cost estimates and potential next steps. (Click HERE for full resolution)

The DRAFT Master Conceptual Plan included an Outdoor Pool and Outdoor Ice Rink space.
